Who We Are
Cobb
Republican Women have served Cobb County for better government
since April of 1964.
We
host a variety of workshops such as how to become a political
candidate, fund raising issues, hosting successful phone
banks, as well as hosting political forums.
We
encourage all of our members to be politically active by becoming
convention delegates, working phone banks, hosting fund raisers,
aiding candidates, marching in parades, etc.
We
cooperate with other Republican groups to elect Republican
candidates. We influence legislation through state and national
advocacy programs. We help fund scholarships for various programs.
We
have informative and interesting programs. Our organization
is part of the Georgia and National Federation of Republican
Women. Together we form one of the largest volunteer organizations
in the United States.
We
are the largest Republican women's group in Georgia and as
such we can draw on many national recognized figures throughout
the state who are interested in being guest speakers at our
general meetings. Our speakers have included Bob Barr, congressman
from the 7th District, Johnny Isakson, congressman from the
6th District, Chuck Clay, Past Chairman of the Georgia Republican
party, and Bill Byrne, Cobb County Commission Chairman. We
want our members to be fully informed as to what is happening
in the Republican party in Cobb County, Georgia, and in the
nation.
By
joining together we have a greater influence on the issues
facing our state and nation. It is important for each of us
to be politically active in government to insure those who
follow us have the same freedoms and rights that we enjoy.
Membership
in our organization provides fellowship and the opportunity
to become acquainted with people who hold similar interests
and beliefs.
