Bob Barr occupies the 21st Century Liberties Chair for Freedom and Privacy at the American Conservative Union, serves as a Board Member at the Patrick Henry Center, and is the Honorary Chair for Citizens United. He currently serves Of Counsel with the Law Offices of Edwin Marger. He is a board member in the National Rifle Association.

President's Corner

May is National Military Appreciation Month.  We should all take the time to say "thank you" to troops serving abroad and at home as well as to veterans and affiliated military organizations.  The following are a few ways to show a service member you care:

Send a message to troops through the Defend America web site:

Donate money, send prepaid phone cards, sunscreen, toiletries, or message to the U.S.O.  Phone:  404.761-8061 or 404.530-6770    404.765-1794  Fax

U.S.O. Center

Post Office Box 20963

Atlanta, GA   30320

Purchase prepaid phone calls through the VFW to keep military personnel and hospitalized veterans in touch with their families: Operation Uplink

As days turn into weeks and weeks into months, reminders from home are welcomed by the troops.

Congratulations to Donna Rowe who was elected CCRWC’s 2003 Woman of the Year.  Donna has served both our nation (as a Captain in the Vietnam War) and the Republican Party honorably and ably.  Her contributions to our club are truly endless.

Many of us were deeply saddened to learn  of  the death of 27 year-old Pat Tillman—a former NFL player who gave up a multi-million dollar football career to serve his country as an Army Ranger.  He was killed when his patrol was attacked in Afghanistan on April 22nd.  In today’s society, which is marked by instant gratification, Pat Tillman chose duty over fame. He is a true hero.  His death has touched the nation.

May God bless the President, our troops, and our country.

Sincerely,

Felicity

Airman 1st Class Antoine Holt, age 20, of Kennesaw, died on April 10th, leaving behind his wife, Patricia, and one-year old baby girl, Carmen.

CCRWC is working with a foundation, The Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation ("MC-LEF"), for the benefit of Carmen‘s higher education.   MC-LEF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity, so all donations are tax deductible.
