UPCOMING LUNCHEON

Vernadette Broyles, Esq.

“The new Face of the Supreme Court”     Friday, April 28th

President’s Corner

Wow! What a great beginning to this year. We had over 160 people in attendance to our last luncheon with the Governor. I know we can get Sonny re-elected this year. It’s just going to take hard work and getting his message out to the public. It’s going to take all of us talking about the great things we have accomplished over the last 4 years, with Sonny Purdue and our legislators, and making sure we talk about the truth and differences between Sonny and his democrat opponent. That’s why I want to encourage every one of you to attend our seminar “How to Sell an Elephant.” It will give us more ammunition to be prepared for the upcoming campaign season. New members as well as well as “seasoned veterans” will benefit from this seminar on how to debate the con the conservative issues that make us Republicans.

Thank you and I hope to see you at our next luncheon with our good friend, State Representative Judy Manning.

 March Raffle Basket

"Cooking with Pizzazz" – This month's raffle basket contains Rachel Ray's best-selling "30-Minute Meals," salad dressing, croutons, and an apron.  Use the basket as a planter, ice bucket, wastebasket, or magazine holder.

Caring for America

Caring for America would like to extend their gratitude to all the guests who attended the luncheon and contributed to the Shield Foundation.  The Shield Foundation raised $500 during the luncheon that will support catastrophic assistance for our public safety employees and their immediate families.   We want to thank all of the “generous hearts” that made this contribution possible.  To make additional donations to the Shield Foundation, contact Lt. David and Carol Roskind at 770-598-2660 or www.shieldfoundationga.org

We are very excited that our very own Linda Beggs will present a seminar entitled “How to Sell an Elephant” on March 25, 2006. The program will be at InfoMart and will be from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.  Cost is $25.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members.  This includes lunch and hand out materials.

If you have not attended one of Linda’s presentations you are in for an enjoyable experience. Linda is a past President of Cobb County Republican Women and the President of Vision Quest. She is a presenter with Franklin Covey with a specialty in communications. She has delivered presentation skills classes to diverse groups of clients including Pepsi, Verizon, and Citibank.

The seminar is called “How to Sell an Elephant” through Persuasive Conversation.  She will take you from “how to deal with the media to how what you wear affects what people hear you say.”

She will help you understand:

Strategy statements - Great versus good versus poor

Dealing with the media - responding not reacting,

            How to know one’s audience

Persuading people to volunteer in today’s world when time is the new currency

Knowing your topic - the “elevator speech”

            Non-verbal communication

            Attire

            Body language

            Facial expressions

            Voice

            Eye contact

            Protocol

                                    Hand shaking

                                    Receptions Working the Room

                                    Titles

                                    Thank you notes

This seminar was offered in 1998 and propelled Ginger Collins on to be a State Representative and then a State Senator. It was offered again in 2000 with resounding results. If you have joined CCRWC in the last 5 years, if you plan on being a candidate or if you are a candidate’s spouse you need to take this class.

You must RSVP in order to attend due to lunch and the handouts. Contact Toria Morgan or Sue Everhart.
