President’s Message:
Holly Comer
CCRWC 2005 President
“REPUBLICANS ROCK”S
My how the left continues their rhetoric…Senator Durbin’s comments have taken the left to a new all time low and I truly thought that was not possible after the likes of John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, and the leader of the DNC, Howard Dean….but sadly it is. His comments comparing our soldiers and Guantanomo Bay to the evils of Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union and Pol Pot’s Cambodia make me almost speechless.
Listening to
Rush Limbaugh the other today, it was mentioned they offered
for the Senator to visit Guantanomo but he declined,
basically stating they would only put on a show for him and
he would not see what was truly happening. Newt Gingrich has
written the Senate asking for Durbin to be censured and we
need to assist him…write Senators Isakson and Chambliss and
share your outrage for these comments. Even if you have
questions about the war these types of comments do nothing
but to enrage our enemy and believe me the enemy is using
them however and whenever they can.
Here is an
excerpt from Newt’s letter…."By his statements equating
American treatment of suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay
with the behavior of the evil regimes of Nazi Germany, the
Soviet Union, and Pol Pot's Cambodia, Senator Richard Durbin
has dishonored the United States and the entire U.S. Senate.
Only by a vote to censure Senator Durbin for his conduct can
the U.S. Senate restore its dignity and defend American
honor."
I say all
this to remind us there is no time to sit back and relax.
Every day there are new attacks on our President, our
military, and our values from the far left. We must be
prepared to fight the good fight by standing up for our
President, our military, and the values we hold so dear.
Remembering, freedom is not free and our young men and
women, including many of our own relatives are on the front
lines fighting for democracy and freedom throughout the
world.
Some may say,
why is it American’s place? Why do we feel we are the ones
to fight for freedom and democracy? Who put us in charge? I
believe, we live in the greatest nation God has given the
world and while we have had our struggles throughout the 200
plus years we have been a nation, I believe we can all agree
that eventually democracy has won out and we have a nation
of free people who through hard work, dedication, and
determination can be all that they want to be.
We want this
for every human being…the women in Afghanistan, the people
of Iraq and Iran…freedom to walk freely down the street,
attend schools, vote…all that we take so lightly…all that
men and women have fought for throughout the decades. Let us
never forget those that have made the ultimate sacrifice and
we must never allow someone like Senator Durbin to get away
with making horrendous statements such as those above
placing our men and women in more danger.
We must
continue to stand for what is right and not be part of the
problem and rhetoric but part of the solution. I am proud to
be an American and proud to be a Republican standing up to
those attacking our nation and our values.
Holly Comer,
President

Caring
for America
JULY PROJECT - July 22, 2005
Our Caring for America charity for July I’m happy to say, is
near and dear to my heart. Childspring International
(formerly Children’s Cross Connection) brings children from
around the world that need complex medical care here to the
United States. While they are in the United States, American
families host their children in their homes; doctors donate
their skills and time; hospitals donate their facilities and
supplies; and in some cases airlines provide free
transportation. I’ve kept 3 children in my home from Haiti
and South America, and even took 2 back to Haiti. I’ve done
countless other things for this organization, because I know
how hard they work for these children. They need airline
miles, host families, or just a donation. If you know of any
doctors or hospital facilities that would donate their time,
that would helpful too. Feel free to give me a call if
you have any questions. Susan Roberts 770-993-6852
AUGUST PROJECT - August 26, 2005
Our Caring for America project for August will be to gather
school supplies which will be given to The Center for
Children and Young Adults. The Center located in Cobb County
is responsible for the operation of two temporary emergency
shelters for abused and neglected children and youth, Open
Gate (ages birth to 11) and Another Chance (ages 12-17). The
Center also operates a transitional living program, Turning
Point, for older adolescent males ages 17 – 21. Turning
Point serves young adults who have been in the foster care
or juvenile justice system for most of their lives. Please
bring school supplies for children of all ages.
