Special
Donation for Carmen Holt,
Baby Daughter, of
Fallen Hero, Antoine Holt
Antoine Holt
At our May 28th meeting,
we honored our veterans
and those who have died in
our nation’s service at a
special Memorial Day
Ceremony. CCRWC took up
a special donation for the
baby of a Cobb County
soldier who was recently
killed in Iraq. Airman
1st Class Antoine Holt,
age 20, of Kennesaw, died
on April 10th, leaving
behind his wife, Patricia,
and one-year old baby
girl, Carmen. Patricia
and Carmen and her mother,
Karen Hill, honored the
CCRWC by coming to our
luncheon.
In honor of Antoine’s
service to our nation, for
which he made the ultimate
sacrifice, we asking that
all members make a
generous donation for the
benefit of Carmen. Also,
please consider seeking
donations from family,
friends, business
associates, and political
campaigns who would want
to honor Antoine’s service
and sacrifice with a
donation for his daughter,
Carmen.
CCRWC is working with The
Marine Corps – Law
Enforcement Foundation*
("MC-LEF"), for the
benefit of Carmen‘s higher
education. MC-LEF is a
501(c)(3) tax-exempt
charity, so all donations
are tax deductible. MC-LEF’s
mission is to provide
scholarship bonds to
children of active-duty
Marines and law
enforcement officers
killed in the line of
duty. The foundation
works with other branches
of the military on a case
by case basis. MC-LEF has
agreed to put together a
scholarship bond for
Carmen of at least
$20,000. Depending upon
the success of CCRWC’s
fundraising drive, MC-LEF
will raise the
denomination of the bond
By working with MC-LEF,
and with the participation
of the members of CCRWC,
we will serve as the
sponsor of the scholarship
Bond. Bob Barr, who was
our keynote speaker, gave
his check in the amount of
$500.00 at the meeting.
With his check and the
others that we received,
we are off to a good
start.
Please honor Antoine’s
service and sacrifice with
a *tax-deductible donation
for the benefit of his
daughter’s higher
education. We are asking
you to consider a gift of
$25, $50, $75, $100 or
whatever your
circumstances will allow.
