The Center for Children & Young Adults was spotlighted by CCRWC’s Caring for America at the Feb. 22 meeting.
Founded in 1983, CCYA is a long-term residential facility for children and teens who have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned by their caregivers. Located in Cobb County, the center was recently recognized by the state of Georgia as “Outstanding Agency of the Year” for 2012.
The organization’s philosophy is that opportunities to learn and practice life skills, develop leadership skills, demonstrate independence, and actively engage in the community are critical to each youth’s success and self-sufficiency beyond foster care.
